It promotes support to the following areas of activity:

  • Increase access to antenatal care during pregnancy: women benefit from assistance provided by skilled attendants (midwifes, nurses and doctors) during the birth and receive appropriate antenatal, delivery and post-partum care.

  • Organize training workshops for women and their families, in particular when there are signs of pregnancy complications.

  • Make improvements on emergency obstetric care.

  • Provide technical assistance, such as relevant material for training.

  • Provide and implement standards, birth policies and guidelines for the health workers.

  • Ensure the empowerment of staff to improve their quality of care.
